How is meditation practiced - in combination with yoga?

I have read dozens of books along with my practice, with not much success at feeling inner peace or have I? It's not like making bread-you know when it's done. No control over the smoking I am searching for. Racing thoughts that confuse and even make me forget what I was about to just do.

There are so many different types of meditation you can use. Just sitting in your sofa, eyes closed, relaxing music or sounds from nature, can do great things for you. Even just for 5 minutes each day, you can build a great meditation process for you, and totally free ;)

The main thing is to help your mind to calm down, to be quiet - without the babble. In steps, it will become easier for you to maintain a very calm, relaxed state, in non-thought (as we call it) - and that can take you to great heights - to new places of awareness you didn't know existed. There are really no limits.

I have been studying/practicing many kinds of meditation and about six years ago I finally found what I felt the most success with in so many different areas, which also benefitted greatly with whatever else I was doing or practicing. I became so happy with it, that I eventually became a teachger/instructor in that technique and I have been teaching seminars based on that technique for about 5 years now, and and I am thrilled to get so much positive feedback from my students from using the techniques, as well as those who just download and listen to the free audio version of the basic mediation process - which is called the Silva centering exercise. People with all kinds of different backgrounds, total beginners or highly advanced, they all get much greater success with their mind getting trained to go to deeper relaxation levels (lowering their brainwaves to alpha or theta) which helps the mind to quiet down - and be calm - which of course works very well while practicing yoga.

I highly recommend you give yourself the change to experience meditation, without worrying if you are doing it right, or too much babble. Just find what works best for you, and preferably stick to it regularly, and you will experience how it always gets easier to get into a non-thought state and to maintain it.
