Is there anyone out there who combines yoga & weight lifting, and find it works well for them? I do Yoga on a regular basis and for a while was doing weight training. It is incredible how weight training stiffens your muscles. If you do weight training on a regular basis I would highly recommend a good stretching regime to balance the contraction of weight training. Yoga can't really be beaten for this. Personally, if feel that unless you particularly want to 'beef up' then yoga will increase your strength enough to negate the need for weights. I put on more muscle doing pilates and yoga 3-4 times a week than when I was doing weight 3 times a week. But more importantly I was conditioning my body, improving my posture, circulation, flexibility and general wellbeing. yes i do weight lifting in the crab psition lol i dont combine yoga persay, i train around 330 in the afternoon, that night around 7 or 8 i do some stretching of the body part i blasted earlier, example, legs-stretch the quads, and hams like your about to run. i find that doing this helps with the soreness, and it also helps me relax and relieve any of the tension. Its important to remember that everyone is different, your body is an exact science and you must learn your body's unique science, the only way to do this is through trial and error, so give this a try and see if it works for you. It works! I mainly do yoga and cardio, but I do add some weights to some of the poses and lift weights on the side sometimes. yoga can pretty much help with anything...so if you add that to your weight lifting routine, you should be good to go! Lift the weights first, then do the yoga to help stretch out a little afterwards. Hi, Do you want to lose weight & tone up, build strength & muscle mass or just need to gain weight? I can help you!
