If i practice Yoga can i develop the same skills and abilities of a Ballet performer or dancer or even better? |
If i practice Yoga can i develop the same skills and abilities of a Ballet performer or dancer or even better? I would have to say no. Ballet & dancing isn't just about being flexible. You do a lot more in dance than in yoga. Dance is about emotion & in dance you learn a lot of complicated moves. Source(s): I dance. :] No, but taking dance lessons will help. I say yea and no yoga gives you balence like ballet. But ballet is way more fun than yoga . A dancer can take yoga to help improve flexibility, focus, breathing, etc. BUT a person who takes yoga is not learning the steps, is not strengthening and conditioning muscles for jumps and leaps and is not working on the complexities of turns. So to answer your question, no, just taking yoga will not give you the same skills of a dancer. I'm a dance teacher no!!!!! maybe some of the flexibility but that's it and you need way more than that: technique, hardcore strength, ability to perform not just do the steps, gracefullness...the list goes on. |
