Can Yoga make you fat??? |
I was just wondering 'cos I've done a few yoga workouts now and then but not regularly, so if I continue doing this or do it regulerly and if sometime later in life will I gain weight? Actually these are weight reducing exercises. Any suggestions/modifications are appreciated. hai i happens to be archana u said that by stopping yoga u u will definetly increase ur weight by practice of yoga regularly because muscle power may increase but dont do diting dont walk much ie for more than 2 times a day if u walk then u will increase ur weight but u practise some joking before doing yoga i did yoga for a month and lost 10 pounds and i havnt gained any back, so far No! Have you ever seen a fat yogi? no exercise will make you fat.... unless that exercise is chewing burgers ok, just to add for your additional comment. If you build up a lot of muscle through ANY form of exercise, and then stop exercising completely, that muscle will revert to fat. So no, exercise doesn't make you fat, lack of exercise makes you fat. Yoga isnt a food - only food can make you fat. Your not getting fat you are buliding muscle!! Muscle weighs more than fat therefore more weight!! carla I do alot of weight training and cardio. I also know about yoga. It will not make you fat. Like many other people said exercise does not make you fat. Muscle does not covert to fat. lack of exercise will make your body burn muscle as energy while storing fat, and all this depends on your diet. BTW as you age your metabolism slows as this happens it is easier for you to gain weight. to counter this effect you must either increase you exercise or eat less food. hope this help... jaems |
