"YOGA" without sri.Ganesa?

MaxMarie SFO(Topcontributer?) has to say:-
" Yup. Ganesha dropped in on me one day. I didn't find it remarkable at all. Nor did I find the urge to convert.
I was doing yoga at the time.

How can you do "Yoga" without sri.Ganesa?--(it is not Ganesha!)-IMPOSSIBLE- I wonder you were doing something without understanding what you were doing.---Yaa -Uganaa--Eesa---sa --YOGA(nesa)
does it appear to be Latin to you ?--then how did you read the original Yoga Texts?--and you were doing YOGA!!!!!!!!!!!! what a wonderful thing?

MMSFO:-"Up until that point I never understood why so many Christian teachers say Christians should not do yoga."

They are absolutely right.--YOGA you can not start without praying sri.Ganesa-if you wish you read Padhanjali's Yoga Sutram original text in Sanskrit or you listen to the learned Christian Preists.

Hi,

I am not particular with yoga terminologies and any other related things on its practice. But I am aware why Christians should not be doing it. By origin of the practice, it is un chiristian to pray and meditate in a world not that has no bearing in biblical perspective of being a Christian. Everybody knows that yoga is not from Christ. Basically Christian meditate only in God's words and should maintain their health and power from discipline and proper observance of health practices in natural ways such as exercises and proper diet. Thanks and God bless.
I agree. Without any sort of reference to God, what most people call "Yoga" is just a bunch of stretching exercises.

My life has been enriched by worship of Shri Ganesa...it is a fact that I felt a VERY strong urge to go out and buy a murti of Ganesa and worship it. I went out and found one of Him playing a flute. I set it up and offered Him milk. Later I found out that the day I had felt the urge was Ganesa Chaturthi.
Yogi seems so innocent, calming, gentle and enticing. However, as you have discovered, it is one of the ways "they" lure you into their religion.

You have obviously learned yoga. I have not. So, I could watch many yoga sessions on PBS without the volume on then innocently imitate the exercises.

These stretching exercises only become Yoga when you use the Yoga guidelines which involve chanting or praying.

You and I could sit directly across from one another and make exactly the same moves, with you leading. Because you have been inducted into Yoga, you would not be able to do it without the praying words coming into your head.

Now I, because I have NOT learned Yogi, could simply copy every move you make and I would simply be stretching.

It is not Yoga until you have learned the Yoga dogma that goes along with it!

Christians do not need to be participating in Yoga, that is for sure.
