Will using the yoga ball for doing sit ups make me gain muscle and make me put on weight?



I want to lose the weight around my mid area, effectively. But, I'm worried that me doing this excercise will cause the muscles in my stomach to get larger and only make my stomach portrude more. Any ideas? Am I right or wrong? I want flat toned abs... and I don't want to gain weight.

The ball is very effective. Using it actually engages more than the muscle you are working. You need to use your abs more than if you were laying on the floor in order to keep your balance. You also have to use your leg muscles as well.

I do situps on a ball, but I also do chest, back and arm work on a ball too. This way i'm using my abs and helping to strengthen my core a bit as well.

You will build muscle. Muscle burns fat. The ball is a very effective way to get toned abs.
