Postpartum exercise, is it to soon to do some beginner yoga poses....?

I am three weeks post partum and really need to start exercising as a way to help my own body image issues. I have a history of eating disorders and am feeling quite down on myself image wise. I do not want to do anything extra strenuous and risk causing harm to myself, but I do need to start some type of exercise regimen to get myself geared up for the heavy stuff after I have my doctors ok.

I have a beginners yoga DVD and am planning on starting a nightly walking routine with my dog. I have three weeks till my checkup. After that its back to the gym for Pilates, aerobics and weight training.

Do you have any suggestions for light exercise routines that will help me get back into the groove of working out?

You can start exercising at 2 weeks pp. That is what my doctor said... He also said dont over do it though...

I am also wanting to tell you that you just had a baby and not all people go straight down to pre-pregnancy. You have a lot to worry about now being a mom, and you need to find yourself so you can respect what you look like. I had a very low self image so I know what you mean. Another thing is women tend to get depressed after baby so be careful..

I wish you luck and CONGRATULATIONS!!!
